Michael is a native of California living in Fishers, Indiana, near where he grew up in Indianapolis. Michael is the Director of Operational Excellence at DKP in Zionsville.
Michael loves music. A 2008 graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education (see his teaching portfolio), Michael primarily plays trombone, but also drums, bass, guitar, and some of most other wind and percussion instruments. Currently, he plays regularly with the Director’s Jazz Orchestra.
Michael and his wife Natalie adopted a six-year-old Lhasa Apso in July 2010: Yogi. Neither Natalie nor Michael grew up with legged pets, and so it has been a learning experience, but a very fun and rewarding one. After Yogi passed away in 2019, Gatsby joined the family. Sadly, he passed away in 2021.
In 2015, the first human child arrived: Clara. In late 2017 she was joined by her younger sister, Nora.
